I will make it a key priority to encourage a more respectful, solutions-oriented political culture in Concord.

Whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent, everyone I've talked to agrees that it's time to stop deflecting voters' attention with divisive issues that don't really matter to our district.

Deering and Francestown are entitled to  well-balanced decisions that are  made with care, not politics as usual.  I'm running to represent our communities with the thoughtful, results-focused representation we deserve. 

This conversation is overdue. I want to talk honestly about it, not to sell you an answer, but to lay out the trade-offs our politicians keep avoiding. Property taxes are hurting our neighbors right now. 

 
New Hampshire politicians have dodged the issue by promising to cut "wasteful spending" or by blaming schools and town governments. Spending deserves scrutiny and accountability, but the truth is, the state is pushing too much of its own fiscal responsibility onto local communities and homeowners.

Property taxes are regressive, meaning they hit lower-income residents harder than higher-income ones. That disparity, compounding town by town, isn’t just straining family budgets, I believe it is contributing to income inequality and putting our broader economy at risk.

Every tax tool comes with trade-offs. That's not in dispute. What's missing in New Hampshire is an honest conversation about those trade-offs. And let’s be clear, we are already making trade-offs with our current tax structure. The question is, how do those trade-offs compare to our other choices?

I bring close to 40 years in municipal finance experience and my independence from party politics to help lead the conversation on New Hampshire's property tax problem.

Decisions about zoning, budgets, and how our towns grow are choices that should be made close to home, with the best interest of our small, rural communities in mind.  

Our representative should be a partner to our local boards, committees, and town staff.   If elected, I am committed to working hard, showing up, staying fully engaged, and building real lines of communication between our towns and Concord.

Our rural character and natural environment are a foundation for our way of life and our economy, and protecting them means protecting both.
